“As Halloween approaches again, the October issue of Good News outreach newspaper features two ex-witches who warn that spirits and spells are dangerously deceptive,” the Good News Facebook post stated.
‘I was delighted to obtain several copies of this edition in Scotland, as my American friend Carrie Christian, former Coven Priestess, is featured in it’, wrote Ex Spiritualist Laura Maxwell.

“A former High Priestess of a coven says she only found peace after an encounter with God, and a woman recalls how she was healed of an incurable disease after turning from witchcraft to Jesus,” the post continues.

Carrie Christian says that a school friend who showed her how to make a Ouija board and how to use it, and then she progressed to séances, tarot, spirit writing and scything, “it all seemed so natural to me, so I felt as if this was the path I needed to pursue religiously and that I had a natural zeal for witchcraft. My curiosity grew stronger as I got older and I started the path of wicca, but quickly grew tired of it as my craving for witchcraft was leading me into a more intense service.”
After 23 years Carrie was left tormented and depressed; unable to sleep without alcohol, she put a gun in her mouth to try to kill herself many times, but didn’t do it.
But “I joined a class where there was a pastor. I never told him who or what I was, but he would go out of his way to find me and simply say three simple words: ‘Jesus loves you!” He also persisted in inviting her to church.
Her next ritual turned out to be the last she ever performed. As she was getting it all ready, “before I could even speak the words, I heard a voice say so loudly: ‘Who are you even praying to?!’“
Completely startled, Carrie found herself blowing out the candles before disrobing and going to bed.
She even went to church, but only to show the pastor “nothing is gonna happen”. However, while there she had a conversation with God, asking him how on earth he could love her after all the evil she’d performed. Then “I felt the warmest, most loving embrace of peace and love wrap around me… an all-compassing hug. I’d not felt anything like it before. I felt the clutches of darkness release from inside me.”
Tearful Carrie told the preacher: “I’m a witch, and I don’t want this anymore!”
“As I surrendered to Christ, what I now recognise as demonic spirits I’d entangled myself with had to flee from the presence of Jesus.”
Carrie Concludes By Sharing Thoughts On Halloween:
She now devotes her life to warning others about the danger of the occult and events such as Halloween.
She says:“People string these decorations up and dress their children up, but it’s dangerous. Some may laugh at that idea, or think it is being hateful or ridiculous to make such a big deal of this, but it truly is a big deal.”
Carrie explains: “You are opening a door by what you watch, what you listen to, what you allow in your life and home. If you put on a movie portraying witchcraft as innocent, or it is speaking spells, then you are accepting the very things that God speaks against.
“I don’t take lightly the fact that evil powers can sneak in, and neither should anyone. Be careful of what you allow and expose yourself and your children to. God doesn’t warn us off these things because he wants to keep you from fun, but because he loves you and wants you to experience his peace and joy.”
