The Bible itself says that the Lord gives us promises. Promises are found in the scriptures themselves. You can receive these scriptures into your heart and mind, as He promises by the power of the Holy Spirit, to sustain you, to help you keep on and not to give up.

The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. (Psalm 145:8-9)

Silence the storm
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
