When I was a New Age Spiritualist, Mediums said the ‘veil between the living and dead was thinner’ at Halloween, so it was the best time of year to contact spirits – alleged Spirit Guides and dead relatives. Top Mediums, still say this today. Is it not a telling statement, considering it’s also the most evil night of the year for many S@tanic cu|ts?!
Could it be that Witches and Mediums find seances easiest on Halloween, as the demonic realm is more active, having been summoned by certain types of S@tanists, during their annual evil rituals leading up to 31st October? Sadly, Mediums don’t appear to see this correlation, or consider that these ‘spirits’ could actually be evil impostors and demonic in nature.
I’ve been honoured to speak about Halloween in churches, youth groups, TV and radio interviews since 2008, including one with five different EX-S@tanists from around the world. From our experience, we explained that EX-Occultists know truths regarding Halloween not widely known.
So perhaps it’s worth hearing our true stories, before you make decisions on any Halloween party invitations you’ve received.
Should Christians Participate in Halloween?
Some say, when they participate it’s just fun, pretending to be witches, devils, etc, and they don’t literally participate in any actual Witchcraft or Occult activity.
Maybe so, but pretending is a form of imitation. What Does Scripture Say? Does the Bible encourage anything like Halloween or imitation of it? 3 John 1:11 ‘Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good.’
And also, Ephes. 5:11 ‘do not imitate the deeds of darkness but rather expose them …’
‘Abstain from all appearance of evil,’ 1 Thessalonians 5:22 and Ephesians 5, 1-2. 1 ‘Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love …’
If you even attend a Halloween event, you are, condoning it before the Lord and in the eyes of those attending. Also in a sense ‘partnering’ with the very spirit of Halloween. Indeed, with any occult spirits that are there waiting for the possibility, that Occult activities may occur. They know this gives them an open-door into people’s lives.
Spiritual Implications.
At it’s basic level, it can produce a fear in the hearts of children. We mustn’t be ignorant of the wiles of the enemy.
Spirits do indeed wander around looking for ‘open doors’. They are intelligent and know when and where Halloween events are occurring in your town. As opportunists, they will plan where to be. Remember when Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, he waited until another time. Luke 4:13
‘When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.’
Ultimately, for Christians, what are you actually celebrating or impersonating on Halloween? What is there to praise or celebrate about ghosts, devils, fear, death, blood and gore! Jesus is Life. He came to bring peace and life. Life in abundance.
I loved Halloween when I was a Spiritualist. It was our favourite time of the year because we knew occult activities were practiced in abundance worldwide and it was easier to invite people!
Non-Christians don’t realise the spiritual atmosphere is heavily demonic around Halloween events. So, we certainly mustn’t condemn or judge them. Instead we should treat them with love. But Christians who celebrate Halloween, I’d ask would Jesus do it? He casts demons out, He didn’t dress like them. None of it actually glorifies God.
What Can Christians Do Instead To Shine Christ’s Light?
Perhaps, consider organising a prayer night on Halloween, praying for the practical safety of kids who go Trick or Treating, and also the spiritual protection of those in our neighbourhoods who may be forced into being involved in some darker activities on this night.
A meeting for praise and worship to glorify Christ would be welcomed by many. Does your church offer this? If not, why not organise such a night!
Light Up The Night!
I was saved out of the occult in 1994, but can’t remember hearing of an adult prayer night on Halloween, until 2012!
Why the lack of discussion or action? Perhaps because most Christians are unaware of what spirits do that night, the literal spiritual activity, or what actually can occur that night, (e.g., if there’s any Traditional Satanists in our towns or cities planning animal and human abuse and sacrifices).
Or maybe most churches aren’t bold enough to take it on? Are they concerned their church members may fear these Halloween facts, so it’s best to ignore it, not mention it, or ‘give the devil any attention’?!
But prevention is better than cure. If we pray leading up to, and through on Halloween, our prayers could prevent someone being a victim of S@tanic R!tual Abuse. Maybe that same person would actually find your church, seeking your help after the s@tanic crime! So why not pray before such things even occur?
Witchcraft and Occult Throughout the Bible.
I was frustrated the many years I spent through Halloween at home praying, when we could’ve gathered in a prayer meeting somewhere! But thirty years ago when I first got saved out of the Occult, most Christians and churches didn’t want to hear what I knew, or my suggestions. Believers like me were usually silenced.
Because Witchcraft is so blatant in mainstream society now, more of the church is being forced into saying or doing something!!! That’s tragic. Considering that believers warned people about such things all throughout the Bible! See especially:
“Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit of divination by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. Paul … turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.
19 When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. 20 They brought them before the magistrates and said, “These men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar…’ Acts 16:16-20
“A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.. In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power,” Acts 19:19-20
I know some Christian groups in the USA will be fasting and praying all through September – November and especially on the 31st October. It’d be great if more Christians could encourage Christians in their own city and country to do this too.
What Laura Did One Halloween.
For Halloween 2012, I was invited to go with a group of Christians to set up a stall and offer prayer to people who were having a huge Halloween witchcraft street party.
The world famous Samhuinn Fire Festival, on Calton Hill in Edinburgh, Scotland, is held by New Agers and Occultists on the night of Halloween or Samhain. It is a modern community-led re-imagining of the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, marking the death of Summer and the arrival of Winter, Organised by Beltane Fire Society. Its Key Themes: The battle between the Summer and Winter Courts, overseen by the Cailleach (the ancient Crone and Goddess of Winter).
It advertises: “It features Fire-play, drumming, acrobatics, immersive theatrical performances, and elaborate costumes e to fake tickets. Under-16s require an accompanying adult with a ticket. Because the event features semi-nudity and uninhibited theatrical behavior, parental discretion is advised.”
Ministry to Witches, Psychic Mediums and New Agers.
I was so glad I went and so grateful to the Lord, that some of those people who came to us asking for prayer, experienced Jesus and some even received physical healing from Him! We gave out leaflets so they could follow up on their journey following Jesus as Saviour and Lord, or enquiring more about Jesus.
That group of Christians did that ministry outreach every single Halloween at that Edinburgh witchcraft festival. They have saw many people accept Jesus as Saviour, and experience physical healing and freedom from evil spirits. Praise God!
I’ve heard of similar ministry outreaches at Burning Man Nevada, The Wickerman Festival in Scotland, Witches Paddle in Canada, Delaware Sea Witch Festival, Roswell UFO Festival in New Mexico, and a whole host of new age and witchcraft festivals worldwide in recent years!
Shine The Light of Jesus!
We are called to be salt and light, taking His light into areas of darkness. I encourage any of you to pray about maybe doing the same this Halloween, or indeed at any Witchcraft events throughout the year!
