ROB BELL AND THE WRONG JESUS By Marcia Montenegro

Rob Bell is interviewed by Premier Christianity (audio) here: https://bit.ly/2OkJEj1

Bell never says “God;” instead, he says “the Divine.” Bell refers to Jesus quite often, but that is a problem because Bell is not talking about the real Jesus.

Per his usual style, Bell is not really definitive about his views, but rather hints at things. He evades the issue of having to believe in Jesus for salvation and instead talks about how the Bible says that “all things” will be restored, and he emphasizes “all things.” This is part of his Christian Universalist Reconciliation View articulated in his book, “Love Wins.” (See CANA article on book at end).

Yes, God will restore creation (Romans 8: 20-21; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1) to a “new heaven” and a “new earth.” Those in Christ will be in the “city of the living God” as the author of Hebrews tells us:

“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.” Hebrews 12:22-24

Yet Jesus spoken often of hell and other passages do the same:

“…then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment…” 2 Peter 2:9

“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 20: 11-15

The “second death” is eternal separation from God.

New Age Guru

Ram Dass influenced the New Age and helped to inject Eastern beliefs into the culture. Here’s what Rob Bell says about him:

At one point (close to 24 minutes), Bell favorably quotes Ram Dass about “grasping energy” which is “fear, anger,” or failure to “confront a shadow side” that causes one to “desperately cling to systems, patterns, addictions, habits.” Bell says salvation is being released from all the things you were clinging to.

That Bell gets insight from Ram Dass is very revealing. I am quite familiar with Ram Dass from my New Age days; his book “Be Here Now” played a huge role in my worldview and I personally met him onstage after one of his lectures at Emory University.

Ram Dass is also known as Richard Alpert, who as a psychologist at Harvard in the 1960s, participated in some LSD experiments with Timothy Leary, which led to the famed mantra of psychedelic drugs, “Turn on, tune in, and drop out.”

False Doctrines

I think Bell had already slipped from the Christian faith when he wrote “Velvet Elvis,” which was promoted by many Christians.

In that book, Bell recommended that his readers set aside 3 months to read Ken Wilber’s book, “A Theory of Everything.” Wilber is best described as a prolific author and post New Age-Buddhist-Perennialist who designed a paradigm he calls Integral Spirituality.

Bell shows contempt for anyone who holds to sound doctrine by saying those who preach sound orthodoxy are being “dogmatic” and holding to “a system.”

Instead, Bell tells us, Jesus came so that would live: “food, drink, a good walk, surfing, music, architecture, law…” The podcast host refers to the “abundant life” of John 10:10 and Bell agrees that is what he is talking about. However, “abundant life” is about life in Christ, which means living by the Spirit and having eternal life. But one can only live by the Spirit when one trusts in Christ, something Bell seems to reject.

That one must believe in him to have this abundant life is made clear by Jesus in several places:

“…but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John 4:14

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:38

“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.’” John 6:35

“I am the bread of life.” John 6:48

Without Jesus, there is no such water or bread. But one who believes in Jesus (see Jesus’ words above in John 7:38) never thirsts or hungers again and is continually and eternally satisfied. This is abundant life, not enjoying life more or making the most of life. Certainly abundant life in Christ does not preclude enjoying life, and it should actually enrich it, but let’s get the definition of “abundant life” biblically correct.

That such abundant life is not always a pleasurable enjoyment of life is revealed by many passages about suffering for the sake of Christ and being willing to do so. This means suffering in defense of the faith, not just suffering. There are too many passages on this, but a good one is:

“If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name. For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner? Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.” 1 Peter 4:14-19

Hubbard: self confessed Luciferian Medium

New Age Associates:

Rob Bell, still viewed as a Christian, says none of these things about having faith in Christ, eternal life, suffering for the gospel, or Jesus as the water and bread of life. But Bell is out there, influencing many. He is someone Christians can draw a line with because Bell no longer stands for the true Jesus. His associations with and approvals of New Ager Deepak Chopra, New Thought follower Oprah, and heretical Richard Rohr speak volumes.

Rob Bell extols doubt, uncertainty, and is anti-propositional.

My impression of Bell’s Jesus is that he was a postmodern hip rabbi who told stories, liked to break rules, and eschewed propositional truth. Yet aside from his parables, questions, and rebukes, Jesus’ statements recorded in the gospels are all propositional truths.

A Look At Radical Feminism with Camilla Rosa Eriksen.

Camilla Rosa Eriksen wrote on Radical Feminism recently in Exposing The Darkness. and kindly gave me permission to share here. The book “The Illuminati in Hollywood” is referred toA founder of the Illuminati, Adam Weishaupt’s famous quote on feminism is included.

The Witchcraft Spell Of The Feminist Movement by Camilla Rosa Eriksen.

Have you noticed how our culture is trying to make feminine strength about being aggressive, angry, loud and even to dominate men?

In fact, women are becoming more and more masculine in our culture and media – even those with a full face of make up and dancing in skimpy clothes.

It’s a strong demonic influence that is happening to twist and pervert God’s original plan.
“Radical Feminism” is on the rise and it’s even more aggressive than the feminism of the 60’s and 70’s.

Spiritually this one is a giant. Jezebel spirit, Isis spirit, Ashera spirit, “Queen of Heaven”…this snake wears many coats and various Goddess names (demonic entities).

Adam Weishaupt, the founder of the Illuminati, wrote the following words about how to target women. What we are seeing now is clearly a strategically planned possession of womanhood:

“It will be an immense relief to their enslaved minds to be freed from any one bond or restraint, and it will fire them the more, and cause them to work for us with zeal, without knowing that they do so; for they will only be indulging their own desire of personal admiration”

Women are enslaved while thinking that they are freeing themselves. The elite cabal puppet masters are laughing, as they see women being fooled by their well planned agenda and prompting them to act like mind controlled angry freaks.

(Take a brief look at contemporary pop culture videos with female artists or movies, most tv shows and the so-called “Women’s Rights” protests to notice what is happening).

It is a trend now that movies that were originally cast with strong men as leads have been cast by women instead – Mad Max: Fury Road, Ghostbusters, Superwoman, Ocean’s 8, and countless others examples. The common denominator in this trend is not just the women playing lead but that there is always a male part which looks weak, pathetic or less wise than the woman. This week Netflix offered me a list of 75 different shows or movies under the banner “strong female lead” and this is not something I have ever looked for in the search mechanism (another indication that Netflix is used for propaganda).

The Ban Bossy campaign in 2014 was created to criticize the use of the word “bossy” to describe assertive girls and women, proposing that the word is stigmatizing and would discourage girls and women from seeking positions of leadership.

Mark Dice in his book “The Illuminati in Hollywood” makes a correct observation here:

“Beyonce was the face of the feminist campaign called “Ban Bossy” in 2014 which aimed to equate the use of the word “bossy” the same as racial slur. This of course, while her husband rapper Jay-Z, repeatedly calls women bitches and hoes in his music, which is obviously demeaning to women….The “Ban Bossy” campaign even got the public support of First Lady Michelle Obama, along with Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg, Girls Scouts CEO Maria Chavez and others who apparently didn’t see the hypocrisy in bringing Beyonce aboard the campaign”.

Part 2:

We have to wake up. Because this “revolution” is going on in our schools, institutions and all forms of entertainment and media and it is here to stay.

Apart from it being extremely destructive, what our culture and schools are now teaching girls, to be feminine power and strength – is a LIE!

Real strength is the opposite of being aggressive and violent and vulgar – real strength is rooted in love, kindness and a gracious and generous spirit.

It is being able to be kind, despite what we have endured. It is to choose not to be verbally abusive towards the people who have abused us, despite the temptation to lash out.

It’s about forgiveness and learning better boundaries instead of hate. It’s about having a voice – YES – but speaking with clarity, wisdom, empathy and understanding.

It is about helping other women and children.

It’s about building others up without breaking down those we disagree with.

It is about respecting men and learning to avoid those men who don’t reciprocate love and respect back. Not hating on them with weapons of destruction. We do not heal from abuse by becoming abusers ourselves.

Real power is finding answers in the Bible and having the knowledge that we are loved in the Beloved – in Yeshua/Jesus – by our Heavenly Father. On that foundation we can have peace and find new strength despite our circumstances.

Strength without that inner peace (the shalom that we need in our heart) is actually not strength at all.

Aggression, rage, violence, hate, malice and abuse (verbal or otherwise) and being masculine as a woman is NOT strength. It is an expression of pain directed at others or against ourselves by our actions or words.

It springs from wounds and the unhealed places in our soul.

Many of those wounds are inflicted on women because of this so-called “freedom” that the feminist movement promotes – such as sex with different partners and abortion. So ironically women are hurting themselves by becoming part of the revolution and this ignites more anger and frustration within themselves to fuel even more “female power”.

PRAY PROTECTION daily over yourself and your daughters because – trust me – this propoganda looks like the whole world is coming deeper under a hypnotic witchcraft spell!

I don’t believe this means that you have to be a specific physical type, or that you have to not care about your outer appearance. And also some women have more natural leadership skills than others, and some are more extrovert than introvert and with a higher movement. Nothing wrong with that! 🙂

My point is – Satan is skillfully changing the female virtues that God has created into something very different just like Satan is creating a culture that cuts off true and healthy masculinity in men.

And if you are not very much aware of what is going on, even as a Christian woman, you will start to change in that direction, (unless you live on an desert island with no social media, media and technology- in which case you are not reading this)

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,3 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. “
(Galatians 5,19-25)

PZ Insider Report – Luciferian War – Knowing The Enemy

The PZ Insider Report

June 25, 2018

Luciferians know the bible, probably better that many Christians. They know that prophecies foretold their ultimate demise.

But what they believe is that they can change the outcome and they are working with all their being to try and change those prophecies.

When you start digging into what these people believe, you see that they are basically in denial of scripture.

They honestly believe that history can be changed, and that John’s prophetic revelation is only one interpretation of the future. They know, read, study the bible and Revelation. But it is the rebellion in them that causes to minimalize it and not take seriously.

They think that bringing back the “gods” putting Lucifer on the throne to rule the world and being beside him is a good thing.

They are Luciferians, and they DO believe the Bible, but what you find out when you start going down the rabbit hole is that they believe the bible is a bunch of misguided assertions, cute stories and made their god , Lucifer the bad guy, where in reality they see Lucifer as the good guy and Jehovah is the bad guy with all the bad rules.

With that, I am honored to present the following articles in this issue of The PZ Insider Report.

Is Forsaking Sin and Walking in Holiness That Important? What About Grace And Mercy?

My good friend, Ex Ghost Hunter, Dana Emanuel, speaks on following holiness and sanctification wholeheartedly, while also carrying your cross, resisting and overcoming sin to continually abide and walk in the freedom that Christ died on the cross to offer to us.

‎Hebrews 12:14, Philippians 2:12, Ephes. 2, Deut. 11, Romans 5, Matt. 5.

~~~
Dana Emanuel, asks ”Forsaking Sin…Is it still important?”
In a day where the grace of God is the only message heard in most churches, does God still call for a holy people? Should “hell” still be preached? Did Jesus warn and preach about Hell, and tell us to fear God? YES… BECAUSE HE LOVES US!
What To Do When You (Still) Don’t Desire God by John Piper.
FIGHTING FOR JOY AFTER TRYING EVERYTHING.
Solid Joys, Daily Devotional with John Piper.
Article by John Piper, Founder & Teacher, desiringGod.org
It’s been fifteen years since I wrote When I Don’t Desire God: How to Fight for Joy. I wrote it because hundreds of people who hear the message of Christian Hedonism with hope drift into discouragement because they don’t have the joy in God that they know they should. Christian Hedonism says that God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him. Which makes matters worse if that satisfaction is missing. That’s why I wrote the book.
I have been asked, What would I say now, with the accumulated wisdom of 72 years, to those still struggling to “delight yourself in the Lord” (Psalm 37:4)? This is not theoretical for me. Not only do I share the struggle, but I have conversations with real people struggling like this. I followed up one such conversation recently with an email. I’m going to share that with you below. But first a caution.
Wisdom for the Darkness
Whether we can help someone struggling with joylessness in the Christian life depends not primarily on the quantity of wisdom we have accumulated over the years, but on how we apply the truth we have, and whether the Spirit of God turns that truth into life and freedom and joy.
“When the darkness of uncertainty and fear hangs over you, don’t let go of the One you knew in the light.”
I am not minimizing the value of accumulated wisdom. The Old Testament sage commands, “Get wisdom” (Proverbs 4:7). Jesus “increased in wisdom” (Luke 2:52). Paul prays that we would be “filled with spiritual wisdom” (Colossians 1:9). We know that in Christ “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom” (Colossians 2:3). Paul calls us to admonish each other “in all wisdom” (Colossians 3:16). James tells us that if we “lack wisdom,” we should ask for it from God (James 1:5). For there is a “wisdom that comes down from above” (James 3:17). We can never get too much wisdom.
But my point is that if you are 30 instead of 70, you should not be intimidated or paralyzed by the fact that you still have 40 years of wisdom accumulation in front of you. As you read your Bible tomorrow morning, praying for supernatural insight, God may grant you a glimpse of some precious truth that later in the day will be exactly the truth that your struggling friend needs.
Am I Beyond Hope?
After the conversation that I had recently with my friend, he followed up with an email. He was still in distress. What do you say when you feel you have said all you know to say — in the book and in conversation?
One answer is this: Don’t think that you need the tailor-made answer to the presenting problem. Instead, realize that any precious biblical truth that has ministered deeply to you, though it may seem irrelevant to your friend’s situation, may be more helpful than you realize. Just go ahead and overflow from your morning devotions. They will know the truth (which may seem random to us), and the truth may set them free.
You also can give the sober counsel that struggling has hope of success, but forsaking the struggle does not. I think it is a mistake to give unqualified assurance to a struggler when you do not know if they are born again. You hope they are. They hope they are. But you are not God. And they are in a season of darkness. What you do know beyond doubt is: if they finally abandon Christ and hope, there is no hope.
“Struggling has hope of success, but forsaking the struggle does not.”
So I thought it might be helpful to share with you how I responded to my friend’s email. Keep in mind that his struggle has to do with patterns of repeated sin which make him feel hopeless about ever getting victory. These failures leave him feeling distant from God and, at times, wondering if he is a Christian, or perhaps whether he may even be an Esau who has spurned grace so often that true repentance is no longer possible (Hebrews 12:16–17).
This is a terrifying position to be in. I don’t think my friend is unusual. I think thousands of Christians, if they will pause to be painfully honest, will admit to the same struggles. It is hard to admit this, because it is so scary.
Parts of the following letter are exact quotes. Other parts are altered enough so as not to betray any confidences.
Letter to a Distressed Friend
Dear brother,
I totally empathize with the frustration and fears of possibly being an Esau because of sinning so deeply against God’s mercy and light and patience. There is no comfortable answer to how one conquers such fears and escapes such a condition. From my own experience, what I would say is this: If you have the grace to hold on to God’s mercy and not throw it away in apostasy, there is hope.
This is not a comfortable answer. It doesn’t speak in terms of simple certainties — namely, that you will definitely prove not to be an Esau. But it is the only way forward into light and hope and relief. I can’t promise that you are a child of God, but I can promise that if you throw away hope, you will prove not to be a child of God.
God’s word speaks often about “waiting” for the Lord, as in Psalm 40:
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure. (Psalm 40:1–2)
How long was David in the miry bog? It doesn’t say. But what is clear from all the psalms is that the psalmists never forsake God when they feel like he has forsaken them. Something holds them.
“I can’t promise that you’re a child of God, but I can promise that if you abandon hope, you will prove not to be.”
Not only does the Bible speak of waiting for God in the miry bog, but it also speaks of true believers walking in a kind of darkness. Perhaps you have considered this word from Isaiah:
Who among you fears the Lord
and obeys the voice of his servant?
Let him who walks in darkness
and has no light
trust in the name of the Lord
and rely on his God.
Behold, all you who kindle a fire,
who equip yourselves with burning torches!
Walk by the light of your fire,
and by the torches that you have kindled!
This you have from my hand:
you shall lie down in torment. (Isaiah 50:10–11)
We may not be able to describe adequately what it means both to walk in darkness and to trust the Lord. They seem contradictory. And yet there it is. I’m suggesting that it would mean this: When the darkness of uncertainty and fear hangs over you, inasmuch as by grace it remains in you, don’t let go of the One you knew in the light. Keep holding on, if only, it may seem, by your fingernails. Know this: his hands are on his children’s fingernails — day and night. Pray for dawn and deliverance. From where I stand at age 72, I believe I can encourage you that it will come.
Paul speaks in a way that captures some of the mystery of the ongoing battle with sin:
Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. (Romans 7:24–25)
Paul is ashamed of his inconsistency in these times of defeat. But he does not despair. He looks away from himself, confesses his divided self, and presses on in the battle.
But he also tells us that the way he fights as an imperfect saint is by the hope that Christ has a firmer grip on him than he does on Christ. He may feel like only his fingernails grip the cliff. But he believes that Christ grips his fingernails:
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. (Philippians 3:12)
Or, to paraphrase, “I grasp for the hope for future perfection, because Christ has already grasped me and will not let me go.” Sometimes we feel his grasp more sweetly than at other times. It is a fearful thing when we are going through a season where we don’t feel it at all.
I’m not going to give you a list of ways to fight for your joy. Those are all in the book that you already read. What I am doing in this letter is simply reminding you (1) that God is present in the darkness, (2) that he is holding on to his people when they feel barely able to hold on to him, and (3) that though you may feel unsure of your salvation in this struggle, you may be totally sure you will not have salvation if you give up the struggle and walk away.
“If you have the grace to hold on to God’s mercy and not throw it away in apostasy or suicide, there is hope.”
May I recommend a song about God’s precious keeping power? In the last several years, the song “He Will Hold Me Fast” has gone deep with me and become very sweet. I love the robust congregational affirmation of this recording of Capitol Hill Baptist Church singing it.
I could never keep my hold
Through life’s fearful path.
For my love is often cold,
He must hold me fast.
May God give you the grace to sing it anew.
“JESUS ALWAYS” BY SARAH YOUNG WINS 2018 CHRISTIAN BOOK OF THE YEAR
By Marcia Montenegro.
Sarah Young’s bestselling “Jesus Always” (Thomas Nelson), one in a series of devotionals, won the 2018 Christian Book of the Year. See https://bit.ly/2JVaRey
Before this book came out, Bible Gateway introduced it by emailing the first several devotionals to anyone signing up for them. Having read and written on “Jesus Calling,” I signed up in order to read them and comment, and then I wrote posts on the devotionals for days 1, 3, and 4 (links below).
As far as I know, all of Sarah Young’s Jesus devotionals put words in the mouth of Jesus. In the first edition, she claimed she listened to hear Jesus speak, and then wrote down what he said (this was altered in the later 10th anniversary edition – see links to my articles below).
Here are my main objections (includes objections to “Jesus Calling”)
1) Young claimed Jesus gave her these words (this was claimed in the preface to the first book and I quote her) which means they would be equal to Scripture. It also means Scripture as given in the Bible is insufficient.
2) Young writes the devotional parts as though Jesus said the words — even if one argues that Young is not claiming Jesus said them, this is literally putting words in Jesus’ mouth. This raises issues of speaking for Jesus (or appearing to) and can lead to confusion for new believers, unbelievers, undiscerning believers.
3) Many of the things this Jesus says are seriously inconsistent with the character of Christ or with Scripture. I give specific examples in my articles.
4) Young writes that she was inspired to listen for Jesus by the book “God Calling,” which is at odds with Christianity! I have a section in my articles on “God Calling.” If Young was inspired by this book, which she calls a “treasure,” this is evidence of a serious lack of discernment, so how can we trust what she writes supposedly from Jesus in any of her books?
5) How can this be Jesus when the words coming out of his mouth (as written in these books) are so trite and sappy? In contrast, the words of Jesus in the Gospels shine with profound wisdom and piercing insight. To attribute the cloying words we see in Young’s book to Jesus demeans him.
6) Attributing words to Jesus that he did not say violates several serious biblical principles and commands.
Jesus Always by Sarah Young
Young’s Books for Children.
Even more disturbing are the children’s versions of these books. For January 1, in the children’s version of Jesus Always, “Jesus” says:
==I have placed signs of My loving Presence all throughout your day. Do you see them? The smile of a friend, the gift of a small flower blooming in a sidewalk crack, a hug from someone who loves you.==From “look inside” feature on Amazon
Comments from CANA:
It is very close to pantheism to equate a friend’s smile or a flower to God’s presence. If there is no smile that day, or there is a dead flower, or if it’s a terrible day and the child is sick or suffers in some way, what then? What happens to God’s presence — does it mean he’s not there? Does it mean his presence is not loving? Can we only know God’s presence through the good, and not the bad? These are false promises and false signs and could cause a child to stumble in faith.
A child should not be taught to look for God’s presence in random objects or people. Rather, a child should learn who God is from the Bible, and that his love is there no matter what happens, good or bad. A child can learn that:
1) We know God cannot be contained and so he is present in creation, but he is distinct from it
2) We know God is with us through faith in Christ
3) Creation shows there is a Creator, but God is not part of creation (Romans 1)
4) We learn to trust God through knowing him and what he has done, and we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)
These ideas can be taught to children gently and carefully from God’s word.
Biblical Theism teaches God to be both transcendent — beyond the created world — and present in the world, or immanent. God is omnipresent (present everywhere) because He cannot be contained in any one locality: “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest?” (Is. 66:1; see also 1 Kings 8:27; 2 Chron. 2:6; Ps. 139:7-10; Jer. 23: 23-24; Acts 17:24).==(from CANA article on One Thousand Gifts at https://bit.ly/2MLAUmi
Another issue is that the books imply that it is supposedly Jesus who is speaking. So will not a child think this is like reading the Bible and equate these words to those in the Bible? I don’t see how a child would not do so. If the child is told that it’s not really Jesus, that it’s only what he might say, then that is confusing as well. If Jesus is not saying these things, why write them as though he is?
I briefly looked through a few other pages and it’s the same repetitive superficiality found in Jesus Always and Jesus Calling for adults. No matter what the words may be, the major issues remain raised in the objections above.
We are to measure spiritual teachings — especially any said to be from Jesus himself! — by God’s word, not by our feelings or if we think it is comforting, and these books fail in many ways.
Truths on Astral Projection by Steven Bancarz: Famous Ex New Ager.
Steven Bancarz was a famous and hugely influential New Ager. He recently produced this video on the truths of Astral Projection.
Astral Projection is a common practice in the New Age movement, where a person willfully disconnects their soul (or astral body) from their physical body and travels around in a parallel plane.
In this video, we look evidence that this practice is dangerous, demonic, and may even launch a person into one of the “heavenly places,” in the “air,” where demons dwell according to the book of Ephesians.
Are Demons, Fallen Angels, Unclean and Elemental Spirits all Different Beings? By Deliverance Minister, Mark Hunnemann.
Are demons, ghosts, fallen angels, earthbound spirits, elemental spirits, spirit guides all different beings? Scripture shows that they are all one and the same: demons. The bible is ultra clear on this topic! Although angels have many ranks and job descriptions they are still all angels. The Bible tells us all we need to know about demons/fallen angels including how to rid our homes/ourselves of them, and anything outside of what the Bible says is merely speculation. Drawing theory from extrabiblical sources and taking scripture way out of context is deception.
The case is clearly made from Matt 25, Rev 12, and 16 that devils and angels are the same as demons, etc. Many however take, for example, other books such as the book of Enoch and teachings on nephillim, placing them as a template over the bible and thus read all content through an unbiblical lense. To elevate books such as Enoch above scripture is dangerous.
Mark Hunnemann, my friend, Deliverance Minister, author, and frequent radio guest outlines this truth below.
Demons, Fallen Angels, Unclean Spirits and Elemental Spirits by Deliverance Minister, Mark Hunnemann.
SUMMARY:
”Demons, unclean spirits, fallen angels, and elemental spirits are biblically synonymous. Through a thorough comparing of scripture with scripture, a clear picture emerges. We need to rightly divide all of God’s Word, and how can we fight a foe we are confused about? There is much confusion and error regarding this issue, but the bible allows us to speak with certitude, without being arrogant. Being teachable is a vital aspect of discipleship. Only God’s Word can settle this issue. Nobody, no matter how much experience, is infallible–and our five senses certainly cannot tell us who populates the spirit realm. Just as Satan has several names, so does his subordinates. Jesus disarmed them on the cross”. Col. 2:15 Rev. Mark Hunnemann.”
Please See Mark’s Video Below:
FULL TRANSCRIPT TAKEN FROM VIDEO:
Demons, unclean spirits, and fallen angels are identical in scripture. (elemental spirits too)
I am not dealing with demons per se—their origin, fall, nature, and destiny. I do not like to speak of my demonic experiences..have peered over the rim of hell. One does not battle the demonic without being forever changed.
A debate…a BIG debate rages amongst not only paranormal investigators but also amongst pastors, Christian deliverance ministers, and Christians in general as to the is the identity of demons. In particular, there seems to be widespread confusion due to drawing distinctions between demons, unclean spirits, and fallen angels. Evil spirits, and unclean demons are other terms…principalities and powers.
Whats the big deal? God’s Word mainly and rightly dividing it. But practicaly, is there is difference in how to deal with these entities if they are different, bc they are generally thought to differ in strength and authority. Affects view of spiritual warfare and who we are fighting—multiple foes or one-Satan/demons? If they are different, how can we tell which is which, or can we? Do we need to take ‘extra caution’ with one more than another? Is the name of Jesus authoritative over all 3?
When it comes to demonology or any area, I am willing to admit when I am not sure about something. Just this morning I told a dear friend that I was ‘pretty sure’ what Genesis 6:1ff teaches, but was not absolutely certain. And I think we should be willing to say “I don’t know’ when we don’t know.
However, since the Word of God is Truth, we can have absolute certitude, without being arrogant, when the bible is clear on a matter. And I have studied the above issue enough to see that the bible has enough clarity for me say: “This is the truth. You can accept or reject it, but it is the truth from Gods Word.” Hemming and hawing when the bible is clear is not humility; it is a subtle form of pride. Bowing before God’s absolute sovereign authority as our Lord includes believing what he teaches in His inerrant Word.
Will you change your mind if I can show from God’s Word that the three are synonymous? A soft, teachable heart that is willing to change one’s mind (re non-essentials) is lovely trait, but not especially common, sadly. We have a lot of self-taught bible and theology experts who are causing problems on Facebook and elsewhere.
We should have respect for those teachers/pastor God has placed over us but they are not infallible, and only God can bind your conscience via His Word. Also, just because a person has had a long successful career as a deliverance minister or exorcist does not make their opinions on this matter infallible either. If God waits until we are perfect to use us then He’s never use any of us.
And it is exceedingly foolish and naïve for those in the paranormal community to identify entities according to their appearance because of the Angel of Light principle—2 Cor. 11:14. Using one’s senses to determine the truth regarding this issue is unwise in the extreme. Some folks have a long list of distinct entities that allegedly populate the spirit realm, all based on perception—believing EVP’s ect. Satan and demons are expert liars and deceivers so it is foolish to believe any voices caught via a means condemned by God.
And the alleged distinction between demons, unclean spirits, and fallen angles are often based on the same fallacy of identification via experience or appearance. Is a 8 ft Baphomet looking spirit with long horns and red eyes more wicked and powerful than a little boy spirit? Or a shadow man with a hat, or black eyed kids? The tendency, contrary to Ockhams razor, is to multiply the number of entities in the spirit realm, when the bible clearly teaches that there are only 2 kinds of creatures that populate the spirit realm—good angels and bad angels. Both of which are called multiple names, in order to call attention to their different ranks or to accencuate a particular aspect.
Just as angels, and Jesus Himself have many names, but same Person, so it is with demons. Why distinguish between these 3 entities I’ve mentioned if they can be shown to be the same? As Ockhams Razor suggests, we should prefer the simpler explanation with less variable if it explains the phenomena. And affirming that demons, unclean spirits, and fallen/bad angels are same thing not only does justice to Ockhams razor but more importantly the basic interpretive principle of comparing scripture with scripture.
Scripture alone must be our guide in this debate. And I will use a fair amount in this discussion.
First, let me show that the gospels clearly show that demons and unclean spirits are the same thing. Then we’ll look at fallen angels or devils .
Mark 5
1.They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the
Gerasenes. 2 And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately
there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit (pneumati
akatharto). 3 vHe lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him
anymore, not even with a chain, 4 for he had often been bound with
shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the
shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him. 5 Night and
day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and
cutting himself with stones. 6 And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran
and fell down before him. 7 And crying out with a loud voice, he said,
“What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure
you by God, do not torment me.” 8 For he was saying to him, “Come out of
the man, you unclean spirit!” (to pneuma to akatharton) 9 And Jesus
asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion, for we
are many.” 10 And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the
country. 11 Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside,
12 and they begged him, saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter
them.” 13 So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits (ta
pneumata ta akatharta)came out and entered the pigs; and the herd,
numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea
and drowned in the sea.
14 The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And
people came to see what it was that had happened. 15 And they came to
Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man (daimonizomenon), the one who had
had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they
were afraid. 16 And those who had seen it described to them what had
happened to the demon-possessed man (daimonizomino) and to the pigs. 17
And they began to beg Jesus4 to depart from their region. 18 As he was
getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons (ho
daimonistheis)begged him that he might be with himIs there a distinction? (notice the clear and natural transition of
terms as the narrative evolves) This one text should resolve the issue
once and for all..
23And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” 24Immediately the father of the child cried outd and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” 25And when Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.” (mk 9)
and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” 18And Jesus rebuked the demon,b and itc came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly. (Matt 17)
24And from there he arose and went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon.g And he entered a house and did not want anyone to know, yet he could not be hidden. 25But immediately a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell down at his feet. 26Now the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophoenician by birth. And she begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter. 27And he said to her, “Let the children be fed first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 28But she answered him, “Yes, Lord; yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” 29And he said to her, “For this statement you may go your way; the demon has left your daughter.” 30 And she went home and found the child lying in bed and the demon gone.
Those are just 2 texts of numerous passages I came across with same phenomenon. And there are several instances where parallel passages in gospels where one writer calls them demons and other unclean spirts.
I have read mumerous articles and books which distinguish between the 3. Usually the bible is used to demonstrate this distinction. Also, one of these beings is said to be stronger than the other. In addition, it is perhaps significant that those who do
distinguish between the two, tend to also believe in some forms of
trapped human spirits…but that is another story.
So what…what is the big deal? As we have noted before, when dealing
with God’s Word, we are ordered by God Himself to be as accurate as
possible in our interpretation of every text.To mis-interpret is sin…a
failure to love God with all of our minds. Second, once you begin
multiplying spirit beings confusion is bound to follow. “Is this house
occupied by a demon/s or by unclean spirit/s?” Confusion from the
outset.(some say that they deal with unclean spirits and demons in the
same manner, but others deal differently—and why not?
Third, once the multiplying of spirit beings is begun, it is easy to
step on the slippery slope of introducing additional beings.(e.g.
purgatorial dead, malevolent dead, elementals, etc) But, most
importantly, we are simply to be consumed with accurate exegesis and
interpretation…handling the precious oracles of God with immense care.
My purpose in this blog is not to analyze the specifics of these texts,
but to ask: does the bible differentiate between unclean spirits and
demons? Are they different or the same? That is the issue before us.
Btw, I chose these passages almost at random…what
you read here is uniform throughout the New Testament, especially the
gospels.
the Holy Spirit uses demons and unclean spirits as
synonyms. The bible frequently uses multiple terms for the same being
to accent different things. Jesus Himself, had many names/titles but
they all refer to one and same Divine Person, accenting different facets
of His person and work. Satan has multiple names as well, so why all
the fuss about some alleged distinction between unclean spirits and
demons? But I have seen the most outrageous comments in deliverance books which I have quit reading.
If you read the above passages carefully, then it should be obvious that
the various gospel writers used “unclean spirits” and “demons” as
synonyms..
How about fallen or bad angels—or Satans angels?
Mtt 25 Judgment….31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Diabolo kai tois angellous autou (v41) Obvious these must be the rank and file being we battle with daily…demons, unclean spirits…condemned with Satan.
7Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, 8but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. 9And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothersb has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. 11And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. 12Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” (12)
12The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east. 13And I saw, coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs. 14For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. 15(“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”) 16And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon. (16)
So what are called devils angels in ch 12, are called unclean spirits and demons in ch 16, and clearly referring to same beings…consistent with Mat 25
What does all this mean? Serves to clarify our foe. Cant fight against what you are confused about.
While we are at it lets throw in the mix elemental spirits which are usually seen as nature spirits.In Col. 2 :8 Stoichei are seen as demonic spirits behind mystical false teaching which Christ overcame in v 10 and disarmed in v 15 ..rulers and authorities…so another name of demon. Same argument as John in 1 John 4 –false teachers are animated by demons.
MARK’S REPLY TO READERS’ RESPONSES TO HIS POST:
If you just read post and don’t listen to video then much content is lost. I make connections on video that I leave out on blog – I apologize. Re: your main point, think of Peter’s rebuke of Jesus. Jesus said to Peter:” Get behind Me, Satan.” Now, was He calling Peter literally Satan, at the point? No, Jesus was addressing the man Peter who was, at the moment, acting under the influence of Satan in trying to dissuade Him from cross.
This is parallel to text you raised in which Judas is acting very much under influence of a devil. But just as godly Christians do not become angels when they die, as popularly thought, so humans can never become demons, devil or Satan…but they can express, or mirror them. Even when possessed, Judas was still a man–not literally a devil. Jesus used ordinary language which employs figures of speech, etc.
Mark has a heart for this type of ministry, where he sheds a light on the deceptions of the enemy concerning the bible and the paranormal. He is the author of “Seeing Ghosts Through God’s Eyes”, where he shows the deception behind theories such as earthbound spirits, in light of scripture.
Mark’s video and radio series are designed to equip believers with sound biblical theology, so they won’t be pulled into heresies.
Please also listen to our two radio series, where myself, Laura Maxwellinterviewed Mark on such topics: PlayList One and PlayList Two.
Ghost Adventures Paparazzi by Ex Ghost Hunter, now Deliverance Minister Dana Emanuel.
Zak Bagans
My good friend, Ex Ghost Hunter, Dana Emanuel, filmed the below video and wrote:
”With so many people joining the field of paranormal research, we need to consider, and ask ourselves, with so many today, suffering from demonic torment, what is the best way we can help them? Isn’t their safety and awareness of the truth most important?”
Mark Hunnemann, our good friend, Deliverance Minister, author, and frequent radio guest responded:
”Thank you Dana for the added information re the acid test folks are using for detecting demons as well as the important reminder to get minister help with paranormal activity/demonic activity. With your experience and biblical wisdom you have unusually keen insights and advice. Your passion and compassion is so evident!”
Below Video by Dana Emanuel, Deliverance Minister.
Dana Emanuel, ”All spirits that pose as ghosts, aliens, spirit guides, animal spirits, ascended masters, etc., are demonic, with the exception of God’s holy angels. God bless you and thank you for watching!”
A VIEWER’S COMMENT:
Truth is they, (paranormal teams), aren’t testing the spirits. If the spirit act’s bad or evil, such as scratching, throwing things, then they claim it is a demon. If it (acts like) a child, or someone allegedly linked to a sad or tragic event, it is (claimed to be) a Ghost. So, the only testing being done is by the Demonic Spirits!
