There’s been an explosion of interest in Witchcraft. But here’s what the media aren’t telling you.
30th April 2018.
Former spiritualist, now Christian, Laura Maxwell responds to recent media stories about occult practices.
‘Wicca is the fastest growing religion in the world today.
That’s according to Professor Ronald Hutton from the University of Bristol. He was speaking on the Channel 4 programme A Very British Witchcraft, which aired March 2018. As Wicca has grown, so has the media interest surrounding it.
For example,The Telegraph recently featured the stories of two young Wiccans. Like many, witchcraft ran in their families. We see this mirrored throughout the Bible with hereditary witchcraft and occultism. The article, titled ‘Meet the modern hipster witches’ even describes how to create your own potion during a full moon.
Media interest has fueled Wicca’s explosive growth in our culture. Popularised by books and movies, such as Harry Potter, The Craft and others, there are now innumerable websites selling not only spell books, candles and crystals, but statues of ancient gods, goddesses, Hindu and Buddhist gods, as well as altar tables and ritual tools. Wiccan novices no longer need to join a local coven, they can easily teach themselves online, becoming solitary practitioners.
Sometimes, the media describe Wiccans by using false and patronising stereotypes. Wiccans aren’t restricted to groups of female teenaged Goths. People from all walks of life, including professionals, embrace The Craft, also known as Craft of The Wise. It is recognised and accepted in all areas of society now.
Like the New Age hippy socio-cultural and political revolution of the 1960s, paganism influences policy. During the Channel 4 documentary a spokesperson from the Police Pagan Association claimed: “Wicca is represented in the Home Office.” It has a great impact on our world and its influence looks set to increase.
Although many people assume witchcraft doesn’t work, it is actually very powerful, just as the Bible shows. As former occultists like myself can testify, people would not invest time, energy and money into something that failed to produce results.
Growing Interest
According to the most recent Government census 57,000 people call themselves pagans and 18,000 identify as Wiccans, Druids and Heathens. Many expect these figures to be higher and to double by the next census, two years from now.
Wicca is often regarded as a neo-pagan, nature-based spirituality, teaching we are all divine and aiming to show love and respect for all. It’s easy to see its attraction. However, Wicca is actually far more than this. Wiccans call on gods and goddesses, use divination, cast magick spells and create potions, believing this brings health and success. Most also believe in reincarnation, rather than heaven and hell. Many are flexible, adopting many New Age beliefs and practises too.
The Origins of Wicca
Phyllis Curott, a prominent pagan US leader, described Wicca as “an amalgamation of free-masonry, mythology, pantheism, transcendentalism, feminism, Spiritualism, Buddhism and Shamanism.”
Wicca was created in the 1940s by occultist Gerald Gardner, combining aspects from the above list with various aspects of the occult. He traveled Asia, studying tribal religions. So Wicca isn’t an ancient religion, predating Christianity as many claim, but a form of syncretism, an eclectic blend of old and new spiritualities.
Even more concerning, Gardner incorporated many of the practices of Aleister Crowley, the world famous occultist, self-proclaimed as ‘The Great Beast’ and ‘wickedest man in the world.’ Crowley and his coven indulged in a secret and hedonistic lifestyle. He admitted in Confessions of Aleister Crowley, that Satan was his master. Before his death, he chose Gardner to become the heir to his occult society.
When The Witchcraft Act was abolished in 1951, Gardner quickly and successfully worked to promote Wicca worldwide via the media.
The Christian Response
The Bible provides very clear instructions for Christians when it comes to the occult. God says in Exodus 20:3: “You shall have no other gods before me” and in Deuteronomy 18:10-11 “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium of spiritist or who consults familiar spirits.”
All through the Bible, God warns such practices bring curses to us and our offspring, not blessings. “Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them.” (Leviticus 19:31)
In Acts 19:17-20, former occultists burned their witchcraft books when they came to Jesus. In Acts 16:16, Paul cast a demon of divination out of the young woman who earned money for her slave owners by fortune-telling. Today many former pagans or occultists, like myself, testify to having demons cast out of them after turning to Christ.
Biblical teaching is clear. At the same time, sharing one-liners about hell and worshipping demons will only turn Wiccans and other spiritual seekers away. Instead, we must pray for them. Show them love and respect. God wants everyone to come to repentance. (1 Peter 3:9-15).
Because Wiccans and other occultists are interested in powerful spiritual experiences, there is an open door for us to share the life-changing power of God with them, just as the apostles did in the book of Acts. But to our shame, many of our churches reject them, turning them further away from Christ.
Let’s be friendly, let’s be a light. (Matthew 5:13-16). Responding with love and compassion will draw many to Christ.’

Exorcism/deliverance after involvement in Paranormal Investigations, which led to Demonic Harassment and Family Deaths ~ Article by Dana Emanuel.
SEE BELOW VIDEO – OUR EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH SISTER AND BROTHER OF THE LATE FAMOUS GHOST HUNTER, MARK CONSTANTINO, OF THE ZAC BAGANS TV SERIES ‘GHOST ADVENTURES!’
In July 2018, after seeing my video, “The Great Paranormal Deceptions”, on my good friend, Laura Maxwell‘s YouTube channel, Laura Constantino contacted Laura M. and myself, regarding demonic activity and torment she and her adult daughter Samantha were having in her home.
Her brother, Mark Constantino, of the world famous TV show, “Ghost Adventures”, died in tragic circumstances, (double murder-suicide), on 9/22/15 at the age of 53.
Laura’s brother, Mark Constantino and wife Debby Constantino, of the world famous TV show, “Ghost Adventures”, died in tragic circumstances, (double murder-suicide) on 9/22/15.
Mark and Debbie Constantino, of “Ghost Adventures” TV Show, Featured on the Travel Channel.
How Laura’s Personal Nightmare Began.
On the show, Laura C. explains that after the tragic deaths of her brother, Mark Constantino, and his wife, Debbie, Laura was curious and wanted answers. How could someone, like her brother, that she knew so well.. do what he did? This was not a case of someone she hardly knew, but this was her brother that she grew up with.
As Laura explains in the interview, they grew up together, going to catholic school, and Mark was even an alter boy. This was not someone that lived in a home with no love. Her and Mark grew up in a loving home with very loving parents. The conversations between them never ended without saying, “I love you.”
Laura and her siblings (Laura on front left, Gary on top left, and Mark on top right)
As Laura mentions on the show, she had many unanswered questions. Could this “hobby” of Marks’, (hence his involvement in the occult/paranormal) attributed to the tragedy? Could it have been that demonic spirits led him to do what he did? And what was it about the “paranormal” that Mark was so passionate about? Could the tragedy have actually been linked to this “hobby” of his?
Soon after Mark’s death, Laura decided to go to Virginia city, where Mark lived, to try hopefully, to get some answers. Her, along with her brother Gary Constantino, and her daughter Samantha LeoGrande all went together, despite warnings from her Priest, that “nothing good could come out of it”.
Laura, Samantha, and Gary.
After they arrived, they went to a local “ghost hunt” to find out what it was about the “paranormal field” that Mark was so attracted to, and to also see if the investigators could possibly “contact Mark” during their ghost hunt, as she had seen Mark do so many times on TV.
During the “ghost hunt”, it was brought to their attention that one of the investigators captured an EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) of what sounded like her brother Mark’s voice. They were all amazed, and also “convinced” that they did indeed make contact with Mark.
In the interview, Laura and her brother Gary explain that after arriving back home, almost immediately, Laura’s daughter, Samantha and Laura, started having paranormal activity in their home. The activity that Samantha was experiencing slowly progressed to severe torment. The incidents became more severe, and even physical. There were a few times, in which the demonic spirits literally almost killed her… (house fire, auto accident, etc).
After months of this torment, and failed attempts of house clearings by the family priest, Laura’s precious daughter, Samantha passed away unexpectedly… when only an hour before, her eyes appeared to be black in color, and she “didn’t seem like herself”. Laura felt certain that Sam’s life was taken by something not of this world… something evil, something supernatural.
Soon after Sam passed away, the paranormal activity that Laura was witnessing, escalated. As Laura explains in our interview, things happened, such as sightings of “shadow figures”, and there were even incidents of physical attacks. Laura also suffered from incidents of ‘sleep paralysis’, where she would wake up on the floor, finding that she had been dragged out of her bed.
Once, She even walked into a room and found her hanging cross inverted upside down. Besides all the demonic torment she was going through, she was also grieving for her daughter Sam, to the point of major depression, at times, even considering suicide.
Laura Constantino and her beautiful daughter, Samantha LeoGrande.
Out of pure frustration and desperation, she finally put her home on the market for sale. She couldn’t take anymore. She was seeking help through the Catholic Church, as this was all she knew. But why weren’t they able to help her? Why wasn’t things getting better after the priest would come and pray for her? The torment only escalated.
One day, she was searching on YouTube for answers, as she had done so many times before, She came across a video, called “The Great Paranormal Deceptions”, by Dana Emanuel, an ex-paranormal investigator, now a deliverance minister. On the video, Dana talks about the dangers involved in the paranormal field and the occult. During the video, Dana coincidentally mentions Laura’s brother, Mark, and the tragedy that led to his and his wife, Debby’s deaths.
On Laura Maxwell’s YouTube.
After watching Dana’s video, on Laura Maxwell’s YouTube channel, Laura C. contacted Dana and Laura Maxwell. . (Laura Maxwell is an ex-spiritualist, now Deliverance minister , Radio host, and owner of Our Spiritual Quest International Ministry.)
After Laura C. contacted Dana, they spoke several times over the phone, sometimes the conversations lasting 3+ hours, as she and Dana discussed the torment that her and her family were going through. Having gone through a very similar situation, Dana explained to her how her prior involvement in the occult (paranormal investigations) eventually led to the demonic torment that Dana and her family went through, and she explained the steps necessary to rid herself and her home of the demonic spirits.
About the Hosts of ‘Spirituality Today: Laura and Dana Investigate.’
About Dana Emanuel, Radio Show Co-host:
Dana, being an Ex-Ghost hunter herself, was very familiar with Laura’s brother Mark Constantino, and his wife, Debbie. As she was always a big fan and follower of theirs while she was in the paranormal field. Dana used to be the founder of “Dead Time Paranormal Investigations”, until she finally left the field in 2011.
Dana left the paranormal field and got deliverance (aka exorcism), after her and her family suffered severe demonic attacks, and she learned that the “spirits” she was communicating and interacting with during these “ghost hunts”, were actually demonic spirits, masquerading as the departed spirits of our dead loved ones, (familiar spirits) just as the Bible tells us. After leaving the field, Dana began a deliverance ministry, warning and teaching others about the occult, and deceptions regarding the paranormal field.
About Laura Maxwell, Radio Show Host.
Laura Maxwell, also has a very similar testimony, leaving spiritualism and the occult, but only after losing her dear mum tragically to suicide, after suffering severe torment by demonic spirits.
Laura Maxwell’s Mum, Rita Peffer
Laura Maxwell leads a very successful ministry, Our Spiritual Quest, warning people of the dangers and deceptions surrounding spiritualism, the new age, and the occult and she shares the truth of Jesus, on international TV and radio interviews. Laura Maxwell was also the Radio Host of “The Supernatural, on Eternal Radio”.

Laura Maxwell and Dana teamed up and advised Laura C. of what needed to be done for her to get deliverance and to stop the demonic activity in her home. They counselled with her for several months.
They also did a radio show interview with Laura Constantino and her brother, Gary Constantino, on August 25th, so Laura C. and Gary could warn others about the dangers involved in the paranormal. But after that show was recorded, Dana and Laura M. discussed getting Laura C. deliverance as she truly needed it. At this point, she had listed her home for sale, as the demonic harassment had become severe.
Laura Maxwell contacted a close friend of her’s, Pastor Michael Cummins, Deliverance minister, to see if he could lead Laura C.’s deliverance session, which he graciously volunteered to do.
Laura Maxwell and her good friend, Michael Cummins, of Revelation TV.
On 9/6/18, Laura Maxwell, and Dana assisted Michael Cummins as he led Laura’s deliverance, over Skype, which was very powerful and ended successfully, and we give God ALL THE GLORY!!!
After her powerful deliverance, we kept contact, and witnessed a miraculous transformation in her life, and besides all of the demonic activity ending, she is no longer depressed, or has thoughts of suicide! Even some people that she knew in her daily life told her that “something about her had changed” for the better.
One lady told Laura that she seemed so happy and that the change was noticeable! The lady had no idea about her deliverance or the demonic torment she had been secretly going through.
On Laura Maxwell’s YouTube Channel.
The day after Laura C.’s deliverance, she messaged Laura and Dana, and told them, “when I woke up this morning, although it is cloudy outside, it seems as the day is bright, with birds singing, and it feels so good, and I feel FREE”!
On Laura Maxwell’s Blog.
We did a second radio interview with Laura C., to update everyone with her testimony, following her powerful deliverance. That is alsoincluded in the video! It’s a MUST HEAR!! (Part 2 @ 1hr 59 minute mark)

Comments From Viewers and Also Those Involved in This Special Case:
Laura LeoGrande Writes:
I am free! Thank you Jesus. Three years I suffered and was tormented every day. I thought I was going crazy. Then I came across your video Dana, and I know God had me watch it. Divine intervention is what happened to me. Thank you Laura Maxwell, Michael Commons, And you Dana Emanuel for giving me my life back! My long-distance sisters, I love you both so much! Gary and I thank you for having us on your show to tell our story…..
Dana Emanuel Writes:
This/these interviews were special to me for personal reasons, and Laura C. has been such a wonderful friend. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her transform spiritually where she has found profound freedom, like she has never experienced before! This case was personal also for my cohost and good friend, Laura Maxwell, as she too shares a very similar testimony! We pray that others will realize the truth behind paranormal research/the occult and how it affects people spiritually. We need to only seek the truth in Gods word and submit ourselves to it. Freedom is only found through Jesus… in Jesus alone!! This case was difficult as the enemy came against it in many ways. I was honored and humbled to have been able to assist and take part of her miraculous deliverance with Micheal Cummins and Laura Maxwell. It was very powerful and brought her much freedom! People that weren’t even aware of her situation and deliverance communicated to her of the noticeable differences and positive changes in her, which was the result of her deliverance, praise God!! We give GOD all the glory!!!!
Laura Maxwell Writes:
Please share and pray that countless ghost hunters, mediums, and psychics, including fans of the world famous “Ghost Adventures TV show”, (that Mark & Debby both starred on with Zac Bagans and Team), see this interview with Mark’s brother and sister! Many thanks! God bless you!
Mark Hunnemann, Deliverance Minister, and author of “Seeing Ghosts Through Gods Eyes” Writes:
Not long ago a tragedy rocked the paranormal community with the passing of the Constantino’s. It obviously affected the family the most, and Mark’s sister and brother were interviewed by Laura Maxwell and Dana Emanuel.. It was one of the most touching interviews I have ever heard…and later Mark’s sister was spiritually freed in marvelous way.
Ivani Greppi Wrote:
I just finished listening to this powerful testimony! Praise God Laura and Dana for your ministry and for Laura Constantino’s deliverance from demonic bondage.

Science fiction is a wildly popular genre, accounting for many of the highest grossing movies of all time. Movies like Star Wars and sci-fi TV series such as the Star Trek franchise abound.
Like many, I enjoy sci-fi, but I also realize it is more like science ‘fantasy’. However, not everyone understands this. Visual media are especially powerful and can promote ideas that may shape a person’s worldview.
Evolution is assumed in most science fiction today, even if is not immediately obvious. Because of the belief that the universe began via a big bang 14 billion years ago, it is believed that older, more evolved species have proliferated throughout it. As such, they would have had more time to develop advanced technology and can flit around the universe in their faster-than-light spaceships. Evolution is also the reason Chewbacca or Mr Spock look different to us—evolution on their planet went in a different direction.
The evolution connection
Realizing the obvious evolution connection to sci-fi1 made me think that addressing this ultra-popular cultural phenomenon would be a good way to lead people to creation apologetics. This spurred me on to write a book, Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the evolution connection in 2005. We’ve been blessed to see it become one of the most popular books in CMI’s extensive range of resources; it is the only creation resource to be an Amazon Top-50 best-seller. It is thus likely that more unbelievers than Christians have read the book—confirmed by the testimonies we’ve received over the years.
Author and producer Gary Bates at the farm entrance to alleged crash site of the Roswell incident
However, in entering that field, I got more than I bargained for. Since it was going to be a serious look at the science behind evolution on other worlds, space travel, and UFO sightings, I needed to truthfully present what people really believe. It meant a lot of reading and even attending UFO conferences. I was confronted by and exposed to all sorts of weird ideas and spiritual ‘goings-on’.
Even Christians are not immune to being influenced by the culture in this area, and many pastors and leaders have no idea that their churches contain professing Christians who’ve seen things in the sky they didn’t understand. And when I do speak in churches on this topic, there are others who seek me out to gain better understanding of their firsthand experience with an entity they believed was an alien.2 Christians are just part of the general population who see such things, which can sometimes be seen by hundreds or even thousands at a time. And often Christians are reluctant to share with their family or fellow Christians because of the ‘spiritual stigma’ associated with ‘UFO’ experiences. So, when they tell their experiences to me, for some, it’s actually the first time they’ve shared it with anyone. So, it’s important for them to gain some closure over these events.
Noted UFO author, Ronald Story, relates the following story: “I asked my [5-year-old] son Brian, ‘What is a UFO?’ He answered without hesitation, ‘a flying saucer.’ So, I rephrased the question this way: ‘What is inside a flying saucer?’ To which he replied, matter-of-factly: ‘People from other planets.’ Nothing could better illustrate to me that ‘UFO’ had become a living symbol in our culture for the vehicle that carries ‘humanoids from another planet.’” 3
I believe this illustrates how seductive this popular cultural phenomenon has become.
However, most UFO sightings are quite benign. People mistake stars, planets, lightning, satellites, clouds, and even flocks of birds for spaceships due to this ‘cultural conditioning’. But not all are easily explained.
Outreach potential
Though CMI’s main focus is obviously dealing with creation vs evolution, the Lord has created a secondary mission field like no other within our ministry. When researching my book, I quickly realized that for some, ‘UFOlogy’ has become a substitute religion. The idea that aliens seeded life on Earth and are our creators has also become mainstream science for some, because for many it solves the ‘origin of life’ problem by attributing it to older, more advanced aliens. For example, over 60 years ago, Francis Crick, who was one of the co-discoverers of the DNA molecule, realized he was looking at volumes of encyclopedic information. Information only comes from an intelligent source. But he was an atheistic evolutionist, so rather than believe in the God of the Bible, he postulated that older, wiser aliens seeded life on Earth. This is known as ‘directed panspermia’.4
A new feature-length movie
Gary Bates and Murphy Thelen with pioneer of the JPL/NASA space program, Dr Henry Richter
CMI’s newest project is a feature-length movie based upon the book. For many years, readers have prompted us to do this. I was initially daunted by the prospect of another major project so soon after producing our award-winning documentary Evolution’s Achilles’ Heels. However, for many months, my ‘production partner’ Murphy Thelen and I have been filming, travelling across the US as well as overseas to interview scientists, specialists, pastors, and experts associated with the UFO phenomenon.
The movie will contain new content that shows how the serious movers and shakers in the secular UFO movement are aligning their views more closely with the findings of Christian researchers like myself. These experts are concluding that aliens are not travelling here from distant planets and that they are not who they claim to be. In the movie’s launch trailer,5 UFO researcher Norio Hayakawa, who helped start two major UFO research groups in the US, states, “These alleged aliens coming to us from distant star systems are nothing of the sort, rather they are deceptive supernatural entities emanating from another dimension.”
UFO researcher Norio Hayakawa: “These alleged aliens coming to us from distant star systems are nothing of the sort, rather they are deceptive supernatural entities emanating from another dimension.”
The Father of Lies
Of course, when one sees something in the sky that seems to defy the laws of physics one cannot pull it in with any ‘tractor beams’ to do scientific tests upon it. So how does one determine the source of the phenomenon? A big part of the answer comes from ‘experiencers’—that is, people who claim they were once abducted or had contact with alien beings.
The footage of these experiencers was seen by CMI-US staff writer, Lita Cosner, who said, “It’s gut-wrenching to watch and hear their stories and the lies they were told by the ‘aliens’.” These were people who realized they had been used and abused. They were not visited by highly evolved benevolent aliens, but instead had contact with malevolent spirit beings from the supernatural realm. It’s strong stuff, but the joy soon comes with realization when, one after one, these people give testimony about how they were delivered by calling on the name of Jesus and/or becoming Christians.
Gary at a mock-up recreation of the alleged ‘alien autopsy’ documentary in the Roswell UFO Museum
This is information that most people have never heard, so it’s vitally important to ensure that this movie has the widest possible circulation to help change lives. The good news is that one Christian movie distributor believes in the project so much, that, at the time of writing, they have undertaken to get a general theatre release, not only in the US, but hopefully around the world.
In closing
The Bible is clear that the enemy, Satan, is engaged full-time in deception. Revealing the truth about this phenomenon presents an incredible opportunity for the church—a mission field right in our own back yard.
“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions” (2 Timothy 4:3).

The ‘witch’ Tituba of Salem with Elizabeth Parris and Abigail Williams during the witchcraft delusion of 1692
Witchcraft is thriving in the US, with an estimated 1.5 million Americans now identifying as witches – more than the total number of Presbyterians. As Christianity declines across the country, paganism has swung to the mainstream, with witchcraft paraphernalia for sale on every high street and practises normalised across popular culture. In the past two years, it has also become darkly politicised.
Dakota Bracciale, a 29-year-old transgender/queer witch and co-owner of Catland Books and witch shop in Brooklyn, is pleased with the outcome of the ritual hex placed on US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in October. The curse, carried out from Catland Books, was well attended by witches, atheists ad humanists – and was followed around the country on social media.
Millennials, says Bracciale, are looking for spiritualism outside traditional religion. “The hex centres on the notion that we live in a universe of chaos, entropy, destruction, death, decay with a final ending of oblivion – scientists are telling us. So the witch does everything for themselves – there is no other help in this universe of decay and chaos. If you don’t get in the driver’s seat things will just get worse,” the witch said.
In a wide-ranging discussion with the Telegraph, Bracciale, who described the interview questions as “sensationalist”, talked about political hexes and witchcraft in general.
Bracciale is “absolutely” willing to cause physical harm through a hex – “no issue with that”. And while Bracciale would have been just as pleased with the new Supreme Court Justice’s death, resignation or physical disfigurement, the main goal of the Kavanaugh hex, and the three hexes on President Donald Trump from Catland Books this summer, was to “let them be exposed for who they are – especially as impotent men”. The curse began with a recitation of the Biblical scripture Psalm 109: 8: “let his days be few, let another take his office.”
A Black and a White Witch with a Devil Animal, Illustration from a collection of chapbooks on esoterica (woodcut) (later colouration) by English School
Catland Books is replete with Christian images including the Archangel Michael, Christian defender against the demonic, and the Virgin Mary. Bracciale, a self-described sexual abuse survivor, who grew up in a born-again-Christian evangelical cult in Arizona, takes umbrage at the notion that witchcraft and Christianity are mutually exclusive. Witchcraft “has a ton of roots in Christianity”, the Brooklyn witch says. Indeed, in Bracciale’s view, the Bible is a spell book, particularly the Book of Psalms.
Witchcraft is powerful, according to Bracciale, because of the “intersectionality of feminism, sexuality, gender, the fight for freedom, eschewing the patriarchy and having sort of a vitriolic response towards it”.
Dakota Bracciale
US justice department memos were leaked to the press shortly after the Kavanaugh hex exposing potential attacks on transgender Americans’ rights – signalling a successful hex for Bracciale. The witch also believes that the Catland hexes on Mr Trump helped facilitate the myriad woes the US president has experienced in the past six months.

Bracciale hopes that hexes or curses will be used more frequently in politics in the future.
Careful to point out that “witchcraft is not a religion, it’s not a belief system, it’s not an ideology, it’s a practice,” this witch “has no time for Wicca”, a religion that went public in 1954.

In the confusing, loosely defined but growing world of witchcraft in America, many millennial witches may disagree with Bracciale’s views.
Three religious surveys from Trinity College in Connecticut concluded that the practice of Wicca witchcraft has increased continuously between 1990 and 2008 in the US.
That growth trend was confirmed by the Pew Research Center in 2014, whose surveys reported that more Americans identify as Wiccan, a form of modern paganism created in England, or pagan than as Presbyterian. At the time of the surveys, there were 1.4 million American Presbyterians and about 1.5 million Wiccans.
In addition to political protest theatre, the American beauty industry now caters to the phenomenon referred to as the “witch aesthetic”.
Model Bella Hadid and singer The Weeknd are seen leaving Heidi Klum’s 19th Annual Halloween Party at Lavo NYC on October 31, 2018
GOOP, the $250 million lifestyle company founded by the actress Gwyneth Paltrow, is not lacking for customers who are interested in the mystical side of the wellness industry that pushes the use of crystals, tarot cards, and astrology. The mainstream Nordstrom Department Store collaborated with the wellness crystal company Goldirocks to release a limited edition crystal set.
So, it may have surprised San Francisco-based Pinrose, an online fragrance retailer, when negative feedback from practicing witches persuaded them to cancel their launch of a Starter Witch Kit at cosmetics giant Sephora this October. The nine-piece set which would have retailed for $42 included fragrances as well as tarot cards, sage, and a rose quartz crystal.

Witchcraft or Paganism (or however you refer to it) is a religion. One with actual practices and guidelines. It is not a basic bitch bandwagon. Spirituality is not a toy. Don’t buy the #witchkit@sephora is selling.
liz@Llizbowman
Being a witch isn’t trendy, it isn’t cool because Halloween is next month, it doesn’t make you quirky or creepy. Being a witch is a choice, and practicing is a form of religious worship. Do your research, and protect yourself when you practice. Always. & Don’t buy a #witchkit.
In September, Pinrose “profoundly” apologised to the witches via a statement on its website:
“First and foremost, to those who have shared their disappointment or taken offense to this product, we apologise profoundly. This was not our intent. We thank you for communicating with us and expressing your feelings. We hear you; we will not be manufacturing or making this product available for sale.”
What do you think of the “Starter Witch Kit” from @pinrose? A gimmick to sell perfume, appropriation from #Native people’s sacred practice, “fluffy bunnies” as Willow might say, or theft and profit from indigenous culture? Do you think @Sephora should CARRY it or CANCEL it?

All occult practitioners are not witches. Ellen Bourn has worked in the medium and psychic arena for forty years. She says she became aware of her ability to communicate with spirits at age eight and joined a spiritualist church when she was at college.
“I joined a Spiritualist church while attending college and began training with their spiritual development classes,” she said. “We were taught both mediumship and spiritual healing. One of the beliefs of the religion of spiritualism is that communication with all planes of reality is possible. I also read some of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s material on the same subject. I later elected to become a psychiatric nurse to further allow me to study more about neurology in an attempt to study mediumship from both a religious and scientific perspective.”
Ms Bourn is a former president of The Lilly Dale Assembly, the world’s largest community of spiritualists. She does not practice witchcraft. Witchcraft is not allowed at Lilly Dale and alleged witches are not permitted to live in the village of Lilly Dale. Ms Bourn distinguishes her work thus:
“Witchcraft is a different belief system than Spiritualism. The term witchcraft has been used to mean those who participate in the religions of paganism, satanism, and gaiaism. There have been times when I have been referred to as a ‘witch’. Some have said this as a joke, others as an insulting remark. Fear is usually the basis of these negative remarks.”
Ms Bourn is skeptical of the current American witch aesthetic. She notes that the concept of being a female witch has been “ultra-sexualised by the media and marketed as an appealing and alluring look”.
“Appearing witch-like might confer the concept of special powers of intensity, mystery and sexuality to the woman who selects this as her style,” Ms Bourn says. But in addition to men who are attracted to the witch look, women put themselves at risk of also attracting negative entities.

“Although this is not an intentional outcome,” Ms Bourn explains, “it occurs because one is potentially drawing upon the black arts without realising it. Black magic is very dangerous as it removes a person’s free will [to do the bidding of another]. This can be viewed as a violation of the soul’s purpose. This can be damaging to both the women and the gentlemen [the witch] may attract. Some sexual practices may lead to negative outcomes in a similar manner.”
In regard to the Starter Witches Kit, Ms Bourn cautioned against improper use of sage, meant to be a cleanser and rose quartz crystals, which deal with a person’s romantic emotions. When used improperly, Ms Bourn says, a person can draw to themselves manipulative and dangerous people.
The psychic services industry in which Ms Bourn works has grown steadily over the past five years with a 2018 projected US market value of $2.2 billion, according to industry analysis firm IBIS World.
The growth of witchcraft among millennials, aged 22 to 37 in 2018, coincides with a decline in Christianity in the US. Some Christian commentators and clergy have expressed alarm at how occult activity and symbols are now mainstreamed into US popular culture and considered morally neutral. But there is agreement that witchcraft and other occult practices seem to provide a spiritual experience for people no longer drawn to religion.

In an interview with the Christian Post, Wanda Alger, a pastor at Crossroads Community Church in Winchester, Virginia, said:
“The sad thing is that these millennials who are exploring the dark side of the supernatural have more faith and belief than most Christians. Because they are open and spiritually hungry, the spirit realm responds. The biggest hindrance to understanding the realities of the Spirit realm is unbelief.”

So you say there are 1.5 million witches, and this is more than the number of people who identify as Presbyterians; you do realize that there are many other Christian denominations besides Presbyterian, right? Not to mention Catholics? I mean talk about a skewed article. There are still many more Christians than witches in the U.S.

Demons give supernatural help to humans in exchange for blood sacrifice, but the price is your soul. God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, warned us about the Lake of Fire which awaits those who do not place faith in Him. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Mark 8:36-37

Not a Religion – it is a cult of deception and destruction. More often than not people leave this cult and convert to Christianity, for no other primary reason than truthfulness. It’s like the abortion debate, abortion activists and staff have been exiting the industry in droves and going pro life. You cannot live a lie and be truly happy, joy-filled. Freedom and liberty are not highly regarded in cults, if you don’t think so ask a former member. Attacking politicians or Supreme Court candidates is miss directed and clearly indicates there is a strong spiritual war taking place in plain sight. People, think seriously about what you are into and move away as fast as you can.

Most of these m_r_ns don’t know what they are dabbling with and are not actually doing any form of witchcraft..and barely if. The actual number of witches is substantially lower, and they do not stand out from the regular crowd. Only a keen eye can catch them by very discrete paraphernalia they sometime choose to wear.

Whoever wrote this did NOT do their research! The story starts out by saying, “Witchcraft is thriving in the US, with an estimated 1.5 million Americans now identifying as witches – more than the total number of Presbyterians.” Just the one largest Presbyterian denomination alone, PCUSA has over 2 million people in it and there are at least 6 different Presbyterian denomination in the US.

Even as an agnostic, I realize that if a group of Christians decide to gather for a public prayer, it will never be to harm anyone, but to heal or help. However, if they are not banned by the “authorities” to do so, they will be mocked and scorned by the parrots in the media like this Yahoo “news writer” who doesn’t hide at all where her (or his or whatever) sympathies lie. If people can’t just realize this, we are already in the times prophetized by the movie “idiocracy”…

My sincere gratitude as always goes to Pastor Michael Cummins, a ministry colleague and friend of mine. He has a tremendous healing and deliverance ministry. I’ve been referring people worldwide to him for a decade now. He’s prayed for many over the phone or Skype.
In our above interview with Laura Constantino, you’ll hear how Dana and I assisted Michael during her Skype deliverance session, where the Lord Jesus very powerfully cast demons from her and her home, after three years+ of demonic torment. Hallelujah!
It’s a blessing to see there’s been 422,067 views of this blog so far! It’s with a deep gratitude to the Lord, that I ponder on all He has done, His love and goodness to us all. May He continue to use us to share testimonies of His love and liberating power with others.

For those who often struggle during each holiday season… Especially those who have lived through abuse or trauma, are bereaved, alone, lonely, diseased, disabled, shut in at home, or psychiatric hospitals, or misunderstood, lied about or rejected … even by family or churches. ”No one came to my defense, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them.” 2 Timothy 4:16. Take heart that when everyone meets God face to face, they will finally discover the truth, even though it’s too late. ”For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come to light.” Luke 8:17.
Polls show that many folks watch It’s A Wonderful Life, the 1946 classic movie, every Christmas!
‘The film stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams in order to help others, and whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched, and how different life in his community of Bedford Falls would be if he had never been born.’ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It%27s_a_Wonderful_Life
Seventy years later and the film still resonates with many. Perhaps especially those of us who have been suicidal or have lost a loved one through suicide. I think of my own mother especially at this time of year. She killed herself and I do wonder how many people she would’ve helped, had she lived. As I’m convinced she’d have shared her story worldwide through tv, magazines, etc, just as I have done … and through God’s grace alone, helped countless people to find salvation in Christ just as they were about to take their lives…helped them get freed after they’d been relentlessly tormented by evil spirits… helped them find purpose and meaning in life again through their new, or renewed faith in Jesus.
My mother lost her life to suicide. I’m so grateful to the Lord that the suicide attempts of mine and so many others failed.
Please let’s remember to pray and reach out to others. And for those of us in ministry too. We all need each other! 1 Corinthians 12:12-26. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+12%3A12-26&version=NKJV
If you are suicidal, alone and lonely, even alone and lonely within your ministry…God knows…
Let us praise God that we are still standing! Let us look to Jesus for the new year and let Him alone be our anchor and our hope!
God Only Knows – For King And Country.
God only knows what you’ve been through
God only knows what they say about you
God only knows how it’s killing you
But there’s a kind of love that God only knows
God only knows what you’ve been through
God only knows what they say about you
God only knows the real you
There’s a kind of love that God only knows
There’s a kind of love that
There’s a kind of love
Wide awake while the world is sound asleepin’
Too afraid of what might show up while you’re dreamin’
Nobody, nobody, nobody sees you
Nobody, nobody, nobody would believe you
Every day you try to pick up all the pieces
All the memories, they somehow never leave you
Nobody, nobody, nobody sees you
Nobody, nobody, nobody would believe you
You keep a cover over every single secret
So afraid if someone saw them they would leave
But somebody, somebody, somebody sees you
Somebody, somebody will never leave you.
God only knows what you’ve been through
God only knows what they say about you
God only knows how it’s killing you
But there’s a kind of love that God only knows
God only knows what you’ve been through
God only knows what they say about you
God only knows the real you
There’s a kind of love that God only knows
There’s a kind of love that
There’s a kind of love
There’s a kind of love that
There’s a kind of love.
For the lonely, for the ashamed
The misunderstood, and the ones to blame
What if we could start over
We could start over
We could start over
Oh for the lonely, for the ashamed
The misunderstood, and the ones to blame
What if we could start over
We could start over
We could start over.
‘Cause there’s a kind of love that God only knows
God only knows what you’ve been through
God only knows what they say about you
God only knows the real you
But there’s a kind of love that God only knows
God only knows what you’ve been through
God only knows what they say about you
God only knows the real you.
There’s a kind of love that God only knows
There’s a kind of love that
There’s a kind of love
There’s a kind of love that
There’s a kind of love
God only knows where to find you
God only knows how to break through
God only knows the real you
There’s a kind of love that God only knows
