Christians and the Occult
If you go into a bookstore, pay attention to what’s popular on television, or go to the movies it is easy to see how occultism has permeated popular American culture. Christians need to be aware of what the Bible has to say about occult activities and how we can respond to our family, neighbors, children, or friends who express an interest in these things.

What does it mean to be a Christian in the 21st Century? American Christians struggle to understand their identity in a society that is increasingly hostile to the church. Buildings. Programs. “Superstar” pastors, musicians, and personalities. Has the American Church settled down into this world so much we have forgotten what it means that we are “strangers and aliens in a strange land.” (1 Peter 2:11-12). Have we forgotten that earth is not our true home?
Christians are looking for a genuine representation of faith. The world is longing for connection with God, seeking to find meaning through social justice and vague spirituality. How does a Christian (alien, stranger, vagabond) practice faith in Truth without losing a vital part of the Gospel along the way?

Arrogant. Judgmental. Homophobic. These are the top three words popping into people’s minds when thinking about Christianity or the Church in America. Persecution is on the rise for Christians around the world. Prosperity and Hyper-grace “gospels” have succeeded in sidelining many of the faithful. How do we find our way, move out of our insular communities to make an impact once more?

Marriage Restoration
Marriage as created by God between one man, and one woman and is the backbone of our society and vital for the emotional and spiritual health of our children. Certainly there can be problems in any marriage, substantial ones, and those problems should and must be addressed.
And of course, where violence occurs there must be a way of escape before any possibility of counseling or healing, or restoration can be entertained.
The church must take up the herald and be an example to society of how marriage, through God’s grace and mercy, can survive. In a world where men and women are inundated with images of sexual immorality disguised as love, the sanctity of marriage must be fought for and preserved.
Homelessness
The world of the homeless seems very far from yours — but in some ways it is quite near. For any of us, the loss of a job, the death of a spouse or a child or a severe physical disability could be the route to total despair. These are the very tragedies that have happened to many homeless people. Struck by personal tragedies, the people in shelters across America, have lost their homes and been deserted by the families and friends they once had. What can you do to help them? Sometimes the smallest can go a long way.
Human Trafficking
Although the issue of human trafficking is the 2nd leading crime in the world, most people are completely unaware that it happens in epidemic proportions right here in the United States. Human Trafficking is a Women’s Rights, Human Dignity and Social Justice issue. Unfortunately it has been mislabeled: (Teen) Prostitution. It is essential that we change the mindset, reeducate and discuss how the Sexualization of our society has helped fuel this fire. Christ calls the church to step up and eradicate this crime through education, awareness and action. Learn steps for stopping this and helping to make a change.
Prayer as a Lifestyle
“Lord, teach us to pray.” That is the only thing the disciples are recorded to have asked Jesus to teach them. There is no record of “teach us to lead, ” “teach us to heal, ” “teach us to counsel. ”There is not even a record of “Lord, teach us to preach.” Just “Lord, teach us to pray.” Why? Because the disciples could see that Jesus’ leading, healing, counseling, and preaching ministry emerged out of his relationship with the Father,and they could see that the key to this relationship was prayer.“Lord, teach us to pray” meant more than, “Lord, teach us some new techniques.” It meant, “Lord, teach us what you know about the Father that makes you want to pray.” That’s the key.

‘… I require … the first-fruits and the choicest of your contributions ….’ Ezekiel 20:40
In the Old Testament, the first part of the harvest was to be offered to God in gratitude. So when God says, ‘… I require … the first-fruits and the choicest of your contributions …,’ it means instead of fitting Him into your agenda, you must put Him at the top.
Notice : He wants your ‘first-fruits’, not your leftovers. One Bible teacher put it like this :
‘I’ve trained myself to start each day by giving God the first-fruits of my time.
I’ve realised that I’m not going to get through the day peacefully if I don’t! … So, each morning I get coffee, and usually while still in my pyjamas, I spend as much time with God as I need to, in order to feel I can behave properly and walk in the Fruit of the Spirit throughout the day.
I’ve learned to use the best part of my day, to give God the best part of my heart.’
Giving God the first moments of the morning helps keep my priorities straight for the rest of the day.”
Don’t use this gift of time with God to meditate on your problems … set your heart as the Psalmist did : ‘…I trusted in, relied on, and was confident in You, O Lord; I said, “You are my God. My times are in Your hands’’’ (Psalms 31:14-15 AMP).
Note the words ‘my times are in Your hands….’ Each day will bring times of joy, times of testing, times of challenge, and times of temptation.
That’s why you need to pray, ‘Lord, each hour of this day I’m depending on You. Let my words, my attitudes, my decisions, and my actions bring glory to You.’
‘… They replied, ‘Let us start rebuilding.’ So they began this good work.’ Nehemiah 2:18It is said that of all the people who have dreams, only one out of ten will fulfill theirs.Why? Because the other nine neverstarted!
To enter the Promised Land, Israel had to cross the Jordan River when it was in flood and they were afraid. But God said, ‘When you step into the water, it will roll back’ (See Joshua 3).
It did, and they reached their destiny. So, what are you waiting for?
1) Perfect conditions?
You’ll never find them. ‘Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap’ (Ecclesiastes 11:4 NIV). The New Living Translation says, ‘If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.’ You say, ‘I’m waiting for God to move.’ Has it occurred to you, that maybe He’s waiting for you to move?
2) Everybody to agree with you?
When David announced his intention to fight Goliath, his older brother Eliab, a general in King Saul’s army, told him to go back home because he was embarrassing the family. But David refused to be put off or put down; instead, he went out and defeated the giant. And with God’s help you can too!
3) Until you feel ‘qualified’?
God doesn’t always call the qualified, but He always qualifies the called. Regardless of your education, nationality, or gender, God can use you.
Oliver Wendell Holmes started studying Greek at eighty. When a friend asked him why, he replied, ‘Frankly, it’s now, or never!’
Because Nehemiah was willing to start, God gave him a glorious finish. And He will do the same for you!
‘When I heard these things, I sat down and wept …’ Nehemiah 1:4
In spite of impossible odds and implacable enemies, Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem in just fifty-two days!
It was an incredible accomplishment! And he wasn’t even a builder; he was a waiter in the palace of King Artaxerxes, a heathen monarch.
Robert Goddard says, ‘It’s difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday, is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.’
So before you say, ‘It can’t be done,’ or ‘I don’t have the qualifications,’ examine Nehemiah’s story.
In fact, that’s what we’re going to do for the next few days.
The first lesson we learn is : you must find a need that moves you. ‘They said to me… “The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.” When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned … fasted and prayed before …God …’ (vv. 3-4 NLT).
And what did Nehemiah fast and pray for? ‘…Give your servant success …’ (v. 11 NLT).
When you find a need that moves you to tears and causes you to say, ‘Something must be done about this!’ the chances are that God’s calling you to do something about it!
You may be a leader like Nehemiah, or you may simply be like one of the followers who helped him. Either way, when God stirs your heart about a need, He’s calling you to get involved and take action.
If you’re willing to say ‘Yes!’, He will place the resources of heaven at your disposal.
When your heart says, ‘This is what I was born to do,’ you may have found your life’s vision.
“ It is said that once you have experienced God, there is no going back to what you know is normal.
When I was a child my my mother was heavy into witchcraft, my father worked for a major crime boss in Tampa, Fl. and when he was drunk would get violent. My mother and I lived alone for 5 years after my father left, when I was 3 years old but, my father had us followed and kept tabs on us always.
My mother who was seeking spirituality, did witchcraft during those years, so you can imagine how much evil surrounded us. The Devil would try many times to kill me. But, the hand of God would prevail and still I knew, even as a young child that God was real. I would cry out to him in the night when demons and evil spirits would come to me and God would send angels to stand and protect me.
At the age of 8 years old, I completely gave my life over to God, through his son Jesus. It was at that time my father came back into our lives, he tried to be a better father and husband but eventually went back to the same way he was before.
Now as a young child, I would pray and fast for my father and mother. She gave her heart to God first, then the week my sister Joy was born, a miracle happened, my Father was broken by the Holy Spirit and gave his life completely over to God, never to be the same again.
I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that there was a real and living God who pulled my father out of the Mafia and made him into one of the greatest men of God to ever live.
In 2006, my father went home to be with God and had changed thousands of lives, through his testimony and walking in the supernatural power of God.
Through the years I have had my ups and downs, even joined the Mormon church once through obliging my ex wife knowing in my heart I was wrong, I compromised and gave in.
The night before I was baptized into the Mormon church, I met the demon ‘Mormon’ in a dream, who runs the Mormon Church and he said to me …” Now you will work for me!”
In his scheme, I quickly rose to become a High priest holder, still knowing I was wrong, God allowed it, until finally He tore me away from that church, after seven years and brought me back to Him, in spirit and truth, almost 10 years ago.
Now I walk in the knowledge and the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit and in the calling of God in my life.
My wife and I have a ministry and a magazine, preparing for the greatest Awakening of the true Church, through Revival in these last days.
I wouldn’t trade another lifetime for my relationship with my Father God, The Holy Spirit, and Yeshua (Jesus). He saved me from death countless times, from when I was a missionary in Haiti, at the age of 21 until now.
How could I ever imagine life without him? There is a love between God and I that can never be challenged, or broken for it is upon this rock I stand and I shatter all doubt knowing that I belong to him. God Bless You – Brother Victor A. Padilla .”
