Sharon and I were next door neighbours as wee girls and best friends in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, trying to console each other through our traumatic teens. I’ll never, ever forget the day I led her to Jesus as an adult, when she lived in Cumbernauld, one of the happiest days of my life.
We both moved home and sadly lost touch. I didn’t know the trials she was going through in recent years but didn’t stop praying for her. My heart bursts with joy knowing she had so many believers faithfully loving and helping her.

Wonderful YouTube testimony video below of her returning to Jesus; of Teen Challenge; Destiny Church and Kirkintilloch Baptist Church … and how many lives she touched. And how Jesus healed her of drug abuse and failing organs AND brought her out of a coma, hallelujah! I’m so, so proud of her.
So wonderful to see her preaching on the streets and in churches. Her ex husband told me the day after she’d passed from diabetic related heart failure.
Still in shock. But so good to know so many people are praying for her precious wee girls. Sharon and I loved dancing as wee girls and teenagers in our rooms together! She will be dancing with Jesus in heaven now. xxx
A quote from Sharon’s church:
‘Her life had been transformed by the grace of God and her passion and love for Jesus was truly infectious.’
And a message her ex husband shared about her funeral:
“… Lots of family and friends there. A lot of tributes and stories of how she touched people’s hearts and helped them with their troubles and used her experiences to help others…”
I know Sharon would want anyone who knew her to see her testimony video. So if you know anyone from her earlier years please send this to them!
She went to Wester Cleddens Primary School and Turnbull High School in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow. Some who lived near Brackenbrae or Springfield Park Bishopbriggs or attended Auchinarin Primary School, Balmuildy Primary School, Bishopbriggs High School or Thomas Muir High School will remember her too. And ofcourse those she knew in Springburn, Kilsyth, Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch, Glasgow and the churches there.
Next to her video on YouTube I noticed one of a drive through the area we lived! It literally drives just a street past where we both lived!
This song reminds me what Jesus did for Sharon and myself
Many thanks indeed for your prayers for her loved ones, especially for her two young girls. God bless you, Laura Maxwell. (Nee McMillan).
